Benefits Director – New York City

 

Do you want to take ownership of key Benefit functions and contribute to a dynamic and rapidly expanding organization? A Tech start-up in the health and wellbeing space is looking to hire knowledgeable Benefits Director to manage all benefit programs and communication, as well as educate employees and drive engagement! 

 

Although there is an immediate need for a Benefits leader, the scope of this role has potential to grow into a comprehensive Total Rewards Leader.

In this role, you will be responsible for the maintenance, administration and compliance for all US benefit plans. This includes overseeing accurate administration of benefits, working with global insurance and procurement teams, driving wellness initiatives, regulatory compliance, and key projects related to HRIS as needed. You will partner with various teams within the business such as Finance, Payroll, People Operations, and bring a collaborative, results-oriented approach to the Benefits function. 

 

The ideal candidate has extensive experience working with benefits planning, design and strategy. This includes a working knowledge of health & welfare and voluntary benefit plans, with detailed understanding of: ERISA, PPACA, HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, etc., and IRS filings. You will proactively present recommendations and benefits reports to senior leaders, demonstrate strong judgement and business acumen, and effective team leadership skills. We are also looking for someone with excellent project management skills, dynamic communication style, and dedicated attention to detail.

 

In Addition You Must Have:

  • Minimum 10 years’ Benefits & Compensation experience
  • Expertise in Benefit plan design and US compliance regulations
  • Must have experience leading a team
  • Background in small to mid-size start-ups preferred
  • A Bachelor’s degree
