Director, People & Operations – New York City

A mission driven Tech start-up in the health and wellbeing space is looking to hire an experienced Director, People & Operations to manage the delivery of key HR functions and improve effectiveness of their People division.

In this challenging role, you will use your HR expertise to partner with senior stakeholders and provide strategic operational support around the talent capabilities of the business. As the Director, you will implement policies and supervise procedures for core HR functions such as compensation and benefit programs, performance management, employee relations issues, people analytics, and compliance. For this role, you must have an in-depth understanding of US labor laws and dedication to driving an engaged and motivated culture.
We are ideally looking for someone with a strong, business partnering background who has worked in small to mid-size, fast-paced start-ups. You will bring strong expertise in compliance regulations, excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills, strong project management skills, and plenty of pride in what you do! The successful candidate will also have a high level of business acumen who is able to see potential issues before they arise and implement alternative long term solutions.
You Must Have:
- Minimum of 10 - 15 years of Human Resources experience
- Strong knowledge of compliance regulations
- Exceptional relationship management skills
- Progressive start-up experience is preferred
- A Bachelor’s degree
