Job Description

Our client is a global asset management firm, looking to hire an ER Advisor.

The purpose of the Employee Relations Advisor role is to manage complex ER cases in the UK, Ireland and Continental Europe. Working closely with the HR Business Partners, the role will be expected to provide support for complex ER cases and early planning, design, and implementation of complex and large change/transformation programmes. The Employee Relations team is newly created and sits within the HR Business Partnering Corporate Enablers function. This new global team will be responsible for ER case management, ER capability uplift and ER MI and reporting.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Complex ER case management support, advice, and guidance

  • Managing end to end complex employee relations issues across all functions

  •  Change support - early planning, design and implementation of complex and large change and transformation programmes

  •  Partnering with Heads of HR and HRBPs as required, in the design and delivery of people related change activity such as reorganisation or transition of activities within the UK, Ireland and Continental Europe regions

  • Producing regular, accurate, meaningful, and actionable MI data on employee relations matters

  • Using data to observe any trends, consider root causes and appropriate actions to be taken

  • Collaborating with HR Legal Services and Policy to input into creation, review and implementation of relevant standard and regulatory processes and policies

  • Working with HR Legal Services and Policy, Heads of HR and HRBPs

  •  Leverage centralised view to identify common themes/trends to drive enhancements in capability, identify training opportunities, coaching and support for people managers and HRBPs

  • ER Capability Uplift

  • Supporting with creating training material and delivery of information

  • Working with HR Legal Services & Policy to review case management systems


Experience Required

  • Extensive experience of managing employee relations cases including investigation

  • Expert knowledge of employee relations, legal proceedings/due process, fair employment practices etc (ideally across more than one of the UK, Ireland and Europe environments)

  • Proven experience in navigating and building strong relationships and credibility at all levels across regions and functions with managers and senior leaders.

  • The ability to inspire confidence, influence and challenge stakeholders based on integrity, objectivity and fairness is key

  • Highly collegiate, ability to work well with colleagues across the range of centres of expertise, sharing ideas and building on best practice, with proven ability to leverage their domain experience and capabilities.

  • Experience of working in a global matrixed organisation is preferable.
