Job Description

My client is a global bank who is looking to hire a highly experienced professional Employee Relations Manager to be responsible for building, leading and managing the employee relations function within the EMEA region.

 
Responsibilities will include: 

  • Providing consulting service on managing disciplinary and under-performance cases.
  • Advising on change management projects.
  • Engaging HR and line management in employee relations training; providing ER advice on acquisitions and divestments. 
  • Providing expertise on team-member engagement process; working with HR and the business in development of business strategy.
  • Manage ER issues with regulators.
  • Providing advice and leading where there are collectivization/union issues; providing advice on employee communications, etc.
  • Provide strategic consultative services to various internal stakeholders on specific culture-related issues. 
  • Proactively partners with Human Resources consultants, Line of Business managers, Finance, Legal, Compliance, and International Compensation and Benefits in coming up with ER initiatives and responses.
  • Conducts ER assessments for various markets/jurisdictions. 
  • Analyses external political environment as part of ER risk assessment.
  • Continually train and engage HR consultants in employee relations. Participate and provide advice on wider projects such as Diversity initiatives, team-member social engagement, etc.  

 

 

A successful candidate must: 

  • Extensive employee relations experience in EMEA, where working/covering more than one jurisdiction will be an advantage.
  • Experience in dealing with employee conflict issues with knowledge in how the different employee relations systems work in different jurisdictions.
  • Strong business acumen, detail oriented, strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, team player, results oriented, self-motivated, and innovative.
  • Expert strategic, analytical and conceptual problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge and experience on handling trade unions and negotiating collective bargaining agreements will prove advantageous.
  • Strong change management skills.
  • Strong influence and consulting skills.
  • Proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Access.
