Job Description

My client is a top law firm looking to hire an HR Advisor to look after their trainee population. This role would suit someone with graduate recruitment and/or graduate development experience at another law firm and is looking to get some broader HR experience. This role provides the contact point for trainees from when they accept an offer of a training contract, through law school and through the duration of their training contract including the qualification process.

 

Responsibilities:

  •     Act as the main point of contact for all current trainees, Group Trainee Partners and supervisers
  •     Deal with any Employee Relations issues relating to trainees
  •     Represent the firm at any GDL/LPC events
  •     Oversee the visa process for trainees 
  •     Build strong working relationships with the Group Trainee Partners and the Executive Partner
  •     Manage seat move process to meet the firm’s resourcing needs while balancing trainee preferences
  •     Monitor trainee performance
  •     Manage the trainee qualification process 
  •     Carry out exit interviews and make relevant recommendations to partners
  •     Review second terms for international and client secondments 
  •     Chair trainee focus groups and feedback to partners
  •     Maintain accurate reporting on qualification numbers 
  •     Keep a strong working knowledge of SRA requirements for trainees

 

Requirements:

  •     Prior experience working with trainee population in another law firm 
  •     Bachelor’s Degree or higher
  •     CIPD qualification
  •     Strong Excel skills
  •     Good team player
  •     Strong verbal and written communication skills
  •     Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  •     Resilient and easily adaptable
