Job Description

The HR Business Partner is responsible for performing HR-related duties and works closely with management & regional teams based in Singapore to support designated geographic regions. This position carries responsibilities in the following areas: compensation and benefits administration, recruitment/employment, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding & off- boarding, policy implementation, affirmative action and employment law compliance.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administers various human resource plans and procedures for all company personnel; assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains employee handbook and policies and procedures manual.

  • Conducts recruitment effort for all exempt and non-exempt personnel. Work with functional managers to recruit permanent, contract & temporary employees/interns; conducts new-employee orientations; monitors career-pathing programs and writes and places hiring advertisements.

  • Responsible for employee lifecycle operations including on boarding, annual performance appraisals and off-boarding. Handles employee relations counselling, outplacement counselling and exit interviewing.

  • Manages communication and execution of HR initiatives in the region and maintains alignment in policies and frameworks across different business units.

  • Formulates and drives C&B programmes including annual appraisal exercise, Collective Agreement renewal, budgeting, benefits review etc.

  • Participates in salary surveys and conducts analysis and benchmarking of C&B programmes to ensure market competitiveness, compliance, cost effectiveness and alignment with the organisation's reward strategy.

  • Researches and gathers information on market sentiments and economic indicators to propose C&B strategies and initiatives. Keeps abreast of local C&B best practices and legislative changes.

  • Participates in ad-hoc projects and initiatives.

 

Skills/Experience:

  • At least 6 to 8 years of relevant HR experience across all disciplines of the function (prior experience in oil & gas, commodities industry will be a plus)

  • Excellent interpersonal & communication skills

  • Able to manage multiple priorities and be committed to deadlines

  • Able to work independently, meticulous, positive attitude and a good team player

  • Adequate knowledge of current labor rules and regulations

  • Familiarity with various types of incentives and benefits
