Job Description

Our client is a large global law firm looking for a pension specialist to be based in their Sheffield office covering all UK employees. You will gain exposure as an advocate for trustees and the business and get broad exposure across reward strategy. This is a role for an individual who thrives on business partnering and delivering expert advice, using your extensive technical knowledge to offer pragmatic but innovative solutions.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the specialist compensation and benefits Business Partner, ensuring appropriate compensation & benefits initiatives are designed and implemented in support of the firm's goals values
  • Ensure the firm’s reward strategy is effectively implemented and managed
  • Work with Risk, Payroll, HR and Shared Services to ensure benefits are accurately recorded, communicated and administered
  • Ensure policies and benefits documents are accurate and indate and are available, utilising systems where possible
  • Maintain all necessary records including the schemes conflicts and interest register, risk register and employee data
  • Draft the key strategic policies for the scheme and contribute innovative ideas to develop working practices
  • Be the advocate of the business, Chairman of Trustees and the schemes advisors and administrators
  • Act as Secretary to the Trustees, attending trustees meetings, reporting to them and delivering action points and projects on their behalf
  • Build good working relationships with the pension provider, ensuring any issues are escalated and effective return on investment
  • Take responsibility for drafting the budget and working with the auditors
  • Provide management information and analysis
  • Ad hoc projects for other benefits
  • Ensure all appropriate policies and procedures are adhered to and that the scheme is run in a legal, compliant and risk averse and commercially aware manner

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience working in reward with experience managing all elements of compensation and benefits
  • An accomplished pension specialist with experience working on defined contribution schemes
  • Strong knowledge of statutory requirements for remuneration and benefits including, tax
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Strong commercial awareness
  • Ability to work flexibly and autonomously within a fast moving and ever-changing environment
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment and adopt a structured approach that enables you to undertake high volumes of work with multiple deadlines
