Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities: 

  • Partners with Local Business Unit HR in anticipating, understanding, and addressing their people strategy support needed from Group HR. Share expertise and provide guidance on key initiatives

  • Support Regional Business Partner to review Local Business Units People Strategy and monitor implementation

  • Partner with the Local Business Units on special projects tied to our people strategy, to be jointly led by Local HR and Group HR/RBP

  • Track and review People KPIs of the Local Business Units based on Strategic Plans and Organisation of the Future transformational commitments

  • Play a governance role to ensure Local Business Units adhere to the Guidelines, Procedures and Standards (GPS) guidelines

  • Partner with LBU HR to ensure Local Business Units are implementing policies and procedures are in a consistent manner to ensure compliance with local laws and regulations

  • Responsible for reviewing Local Business Units Exco hiring, promotion or compensation review, exit packages proposals, special approval papers etc. Ensure there is a right balance with external markets, internal quality, and business needs.  Provide feedback and advice to Performance & Rewards, Local Business Units HR and RBP as needed  

  • Review and provide feedback on base salary budget submission by Local Business Units

  • Review Performance Rating Distribution and Total Comp Planning (TCR) at year end for assigned Local Business Units. Ensure exceptions are being identified, escalated, addressed, and managed

  • Coordinate Talent Council / Organisation and People Review (OPR) process for the LBUs and ensure robust succession plans

  • Facilitate discussion among LBU HR and Group Office functions on mobility process, e.g., cost sharing, assignment type and objective etc.

 

Background:

  • At least 10 year’s HRBP experience from a leading financial services firm

  • Must already be based in Hong Kong
