Our client is an insurtech innovator that creatively uses technology to advance the life insurance industry and better serve the modern customer. They are seeking a Head of Human Resources who can build and lead an HR organization at this critical time. 

 

  • Combined culture of a startup with the stability and backing of a Fortune 500 company 

  • Report directly to CEO 

  • Located in New York's Flatiron District 

 

 

This role will oversee and build a high-performing team with compassion and commitment. They will be a core member of the senior executive team while collaborating closely with other leaders. As the Head of HR, this person will be responsible for building and leading the recruiting process and devising strategies for performance evaluation, staffing, training and development. 

 

The successful candidate should have a love of building something new and care about making a positive difference. 

 

The ideal candidate must have: 

  • VP of Human Resources (or similar role) at a company with at least 100 employees.  

  • Overall 15+ years of HR experience in a leadership position.  

  • Demonstrated ability to establish and run core HR processes and functions while developing a world-class employee experience throughout the entire employee lifecycle. 

  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge in key functional areas of HR across Total Rewards, Policies and Procedures, Employee Relations, HRIS & Payroll, and more.  

  • A deep knowledge of legal HR compliance matters. Knowledge of New York and U.S. employment laws and regulations required. 

  • Experience with a technology company and culture at various stages of development.  

  • Insight into how managing technology talent impacts HR approaches across culture, compensation, talent management and more. 

  • Strong management skills and demonstrated ability to hire, mentor, and develop a high-performing HR team. 

  • While we’re all working from home these days, you must have the ability to work from our NYC location full time when we return to the office. 

  • Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship
