Elliott Scott Singapore was delighted to welcome senior HR leaders to our first Make Your Mark workshop in the region, delivered in partnership with long-standing partner and friend of Elliott Scott UK, Business Voice Coach Susan Room.

This interactive workshop brought together experienced HR professionals for a rare opportunity to step away from operational demands and focus on leadership presence—a critical differentiator that is often overlooked.

As HR leaders continue to operate at the centre of organisational transformation, their influence is no longer driven solely by technical expertise or strategic knowledge. Increasingly, impact is shaped by how leaders communicate, connect, and inspire trust across complex workplaces.

Susan introduced participants to her Make Your Mark framework and toolkit, which focus on four interconnected pillars of presence:

  • Mindset
  • Body
  • Speech
  • Voice

By developing these pillars, Susan believes leaders can strengthen their personal impact and leadership effectiveness. For her, presence isn’t about performance, it’s about understanding how body language, speech and voice can be flexed to achieve different outcomes.

Through peer discussion and short practical exercises, participants explored how small mental, physical, verbal and vocal shifts can significantly enhance presence. The highly interactive nature of the workshop encouraged open discussion, reflection, and shared experiences between HR leaders, reinforcing the value of creating safe spaces where they can focus on their own development.

A huge thank you to everyone who attended our Singapore session, and we look forward to seeing you at the next.
