HR Analytics

HR Analytics professionals gather and make use of the organisations data to create people insights which guide decision making, often at the strategic level. They seek to identify trends, draw conclusions and recommend solutions from the data to ensure the business is operating at maximum efficiency from a people perspective.

This is a broad role and the professional will focus on various aspects of the organisation dependent on need, including analysing data pertaining to; diversity, attrition, retention, internal mobility, salaries, job satisfaction, employee engagement, employee wellness, employee performance etc. 

Depending on the organisations size, roles range from Junior to Senior level.

Those in HR Analytics will:

  • Aggregate, maintain quality of and analyse HR data 
  • Communicate with and present to the business and its stakeholders and manage expectations 
  • Interpret how the data can assist in solving people issues and bring an analytical consulting approach to this
  • Create people data sets and align these to wider organisational data sets
  • Identify, implement, maintain and update new Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) which will contain the data the HR Analyst works with
  • In a global organisation the HR Analyst will need to have global and cultural awareness to understand where the data is coming from and how cultural differences impact HR and data capturing practices. 
  • Make sure data is reported in a transparent, accessible and useable way
