CHRO’s and Chief People Officers

A CHRO leads the HR function within their organisation. A CHRO will develop and execute their HR strategy in line with the organisations strategy and direction. They will focus on recruitment, succession planning, talent management, change management, organisational and performance management, training and development, and compensation.

This is a Senior role where strong leadership qualities and commercial acumen are necessary. Often CHROs come from an HR background but sometimes an organisation may appoint a CHRO from a different discipline.  

A CHRO/ Chief People Officer will:

  • Develop and implement a HR strategy that aligns with the organisations strategy and goals 
  • Join the organisations senior management team, taking a seat at the table alongside other functional and business unit leaders
  • Act as a strategic business advisor to the CEO and other leaders regarding key organisational and management issues
  • Work with the company’s key stakeholders to establish a plan of management succession 
  • Develop recruitment and retention plans to meet the businesses human capital needs 
  • Create and implement competitive and cost-effective compensation and benefits plans 
  • Provide overall leadership and guidance to the HR function, overseeing talent acquisition, leadership development, compensation and benefits globally.
